There are no solutions, only trade offs

In life, solutions without trade offs do not exist.

1. Do you support aims to achieve Net Zero by 2050? (Yes or no?)

2. Do you support aims to achieve Net Zero by 2050 if it involves ordinary people paying higher costs? (Yes, no or What did you say – costs?)

The first question above, if asked in a survey, will usually produce a strongly positive result. Meanwhile, the second question will prompt pause for thought and typically produce a negative response. The first question assumes there are no trade offs. The second question acknowledges the real world exists. There are no solutions, only trade offs. People are rational.

See this survey for confirmation. Ignore surveys if they assume solutions exist without trade offs.
